I Had Armor Once Poem by Shayne Chapman(Tucker)

I Had Armor Once

I had armor once.
Till you stripped it away.
Till you broke and tore what it gaurded.

Now I have my armor back.
You'll never strip it away again.
Some people actually care about others feelings,
But not you apparently.
You never had a care in the world for me,
Did you?
You who held me so tightly.
You who told me, you loved me.
You who stripped my armor away.

But you did it for sport, I know you did.
To see if your persuasions worked.
Well I guess they worked on me once,
But never again.

I did this for you and that,
And this is what I get in return?
I guess I've learned my lesson.

I had armor once,
Till I met you.
And now I have it back
Because you broke and tore
What it gaurded,
My heart.

It had been broken and torn before,
I let you in,
And you did this to me.

You probably felt no guilt
When you broke my heart over my head,
When you left me, all alone, in the dark.

I had armor once.
Till you stripped it away.
To destroy the vulnerable heart flesh beneath.
And now I have it Back.
And it will never be removed again...
