I Have Never Been One Of Them Poem by Matthew Routledge

I Have Never Been One Of Them

Rating: 5.0

i have never been the same
as anyting i should be
i fit in no box
and i have no label

i will not be placed
or seated in a line of identical dolls
i will not play by the rules
i will not wear your uniform

i will not fight your battles
i will never be seen supporting you
and i will not fly your banner
or your flag

if i fly a flag
it will be my flag
the flag covered in the blood and tears
of those few brave souls that challenged you

i will take my sword
i will take my armour
and i shall march against you
until the end
