I Heard Her Story Poem by Rayana King

I Heard Her Story

I heard her story and listened quietly
Her emptiness whispered softly
No on bothered to hear her except me
We both cried each other to sleep

I prayed that something better would come
I know she's growing lifeless and numb
There's nothing I can do but stand by and watch
If only time can turn back the clocks

She use to smile but now her lips are a meaningless frown
Her words turn my world upside down
She is more than an empty shell
It's just that life hasn't treated her so well
