I Held A Flower Poem by Dillon McKenna

I Held A Flower

Each grain of sand sparkled against the boundless black night.
I held a flower in my hand and watched it tremble with delight,
When the moon came over the land and robbed me of my sight
My rose stole away with the coming light
And left a soul, a way, a might.
