I Just Want You Poem by Marly Little

I Just Want You

You asked me what I wanted
And I kept my mouth shut
You repeated your question
And I gave you that look

The look that made you like me
The look that made you and me be
The look that kept us so close
The look that you love the most

I wanted to flee from you
I started to walk away
You told me not to go
So I waited for what you would say
You said give me that look

The look that made me like you
The look that made you and me be
The look that keeps us so very close
The look that I love the very most.

I smiled and tilted my head
Said I still had to go
It hurt so much to walk away
But it was something I had to do

Later on that day
I called you on the phone
You asked me what I wanted
I said I wanted you
I want you to give me the look

The look that I gave to you
The look that made you like me
The look that made us be
The look that keeps us close
The look that we can love the most

I want it to come from your heart
I want you to want me
I don’t want to ask for much
Because I don’t want that to interfere

I want you to kiss me
The way you want to
I don’t want to have to tell you
I want you to just know
