I'Ll See You Later, Daddy. Poem by Sophia Smith

I'Ll See You Later, Daddy.

My name is Addie,
It is July.
I sit by my daddy,
As the man in white walked up to my parents and I.
I could not understand a word he said,
but I knew something was terribly wrong,
as the tears started to shead.
As all the emotion became to strong.
I walked over to them,
Daddy quickly embraced me.
His eyes were as gassy a new cut gem.
I felt left out of us three.
since I could not understand or speak a word,
There was no explanation to the grief.
Sobbing was all I heard,
With no relief.
Now it is one month later,
In the same room.
But this time the tears were greater.
but the only thing that filled the air was despair and doom.
The only thing missing was Daddy,
who had been gone for almost a week now.
My Mommy said, 'lets go Addie.'
Grabbing my wrist i couldn't even say, 'ow.'
We stood there in a small room, Daddy on the bed.
He lay still, as a steady beeping pulse filled the air.
There was not one move of his head.
It was too much for Mommy to bare.
She sunk to the floor when she heard the beep hit a straight line.
Her hand hiting a table and knocking over a caddie.
The moment was never to be define,
He was in heaven and all I said was 'I'll see you later, Daddy.'
