I'Ll Show You Poem by Taylor Watts

I'Ll Show You

Never again
No smoke and mirrors,
You'll know it's something more
I'll show you.
You've heard it over and over again
I'll change, believe me
Promises were spoiled before they left my lips
I'm the bad habit you can't seem to shake
I don't have wings, so flying with me won't be easy
I'm not an angel
I repeatedly fall into my ever-haunting past
Darling, you seem to forget
I am a thespian.
Acting for foolish mobs
Deception's mask will never set me free
I seem to have lost myself in the motions
Enough of excuses
We need concrete
Not to slam our heads against
For solidity, foundation
Our time will come
When, I can only dream
I want so desperately to be in your arms
To not think of hurt
Just love
I'll show you
You'll know it's something more
No smoke and mirrors
Never again
