I Love You, An Adnan Ozer Turkish Poem Rendered Into English Poem by Ravi Kopra

I Love You, An Adnan Ozer Turkish Poem Rendered Into English

I love you
Like water getting excited in splashes
Like winds turning into raging storms
Like earth offering its spring harvest

I love you
Like the river flowing, singing its songs
Like the falling rains in summer
Like the sun that warms me up in the spring

I love you
Like sweet grapes on the vine
Like red plums on a tree branch
Like a bird getting tired singing love songs

I love you
Like the sun that puts lust into the seeds
Like the spring foliage emerald green
Like the oriole that sings love songs
Like my friend who brings your secret love letters to me

I love you
My fulfilled dream
My rosewater of youth in the walnut chest
My stone pillow engraved with your portraits.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The rendering is from the following poem on web pages

Seni Seviyorum I Love You

Seni seviyorum
çağladıkça coşan su
estikçe dellenen rüzgar
ekildikçe anaçlaşan toprak
öğütler bunu bana

seni severken
türküden türküye geçer ırmak
toprak yaz yağmurlarıyla oyanşır
öğle tozlarıyla dolanır rüzgar ufku
adınla uyarırlar beni

seni seviyorum
bağda çillenen salkım
dalda allanan meyva
öttükçe kendini tüketen kabakçı kuşu
öğütler bunu bana

seni severken
yaz güneşi şehvete boğar bahçeyi
kükürt adetleriyle solar bağ yaprakları
ballı incirde yaşar -bin bir cilveli- aşklarını,
turunç gerdanlı kuşlar.
haberler getirir sağdıçlarım
gül kurusu mektuplar

seni seviyorum
hayra yorulan düşler
ceviz sandıkta bekarlığının gül suları
taş yastıklarda zümrütüanka kuşları
öğütler bunu bana

I love you
water, which gets excited as it splashes
wind, which gets mad as it blows
earth, which gets mature as it is sown
tells this to me

while i love you
the river passes from song to another song
earth plays with the summer rain
horizon of wind get wound with noon dust
they warn me with your name

i love you
the bunch, gets freckled, in the vineyard
the fruit, gets red, on branch
the bird, gets itself tired while it sings
tells this to me

while i love you
summer sun burns the garden with lust
garden leaves get pale with the sulphur particles
live their - many flirtatiousnessed- love with honey fig,
orange neckled birds.
my best men bring news
dried rosed letters

i love you
dreams, interpreted to goods
rose water, of your youth in walnut chest
Simurghs on stone pillows
tells this to me

-Adnan Özer
