I Loved You More Than I Should Have Had Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

I Loved You More Than I Should Have Had

Rating: 5.0

I loved you more than I should have had;
I could no longer hold my ardent love inside;
A such passion needed to be imparted; and sad,
Too late to realise it was all in vain because your pride;
You would not let me love you more than I already did,
Yet in conceit, you with my love's energy your ego fed.

But to me, my darling—you were the air I breathe—my life;
The dream I dreamt when I was a little girl—the purest love!
My love for you, my inner child has brought to life:
Electrifying senses—fire magnetised in love!
Through you, I have touched the magic of the invisible,
And I have found the secret gate to make it palpable.

Through loving you I felt the girl in me—I felt the woman
For the first time, timidly sensing her own femininity;
Euphorically beguiled by you—by you, my Man!
And as a saint I felt as well, closer to divinity;
But my human-warmth for a cold-blooded serpent,
My heart in fear has frozen; and yet, —it is still fervent.
