I'M Buying Poem by Cee Bea

I'M Buying

I feel like
a old honky tonk
blues song
played over and over
by the maestro and his 12 string

staring at myself
out of body and across
a field of golden harvest

I see more than laughter,
more than tears.
I hear the footsteps
across old wooden planks
as someone whispers somethin
about
Shoney creek

This ole dusty town
dry and left
to the ghosts of yesterday.
speaks through the winds.
Creeks and groans resonate
as if
hanging on for one last hurrah

I shake off the dust,
clearing my thoughts as well
as my vision
'I'm Buyin' I offer
and the ghosts all join in
for one last round.
