I'm Just Me Poem by G J Salgado

I'm Just Me

Rating: 5.0

They don't want me speaking my mind
But I'm not really like that kind
I'm not the kind of woman who gets bossed around
I don't care about their gossip around town
I see them looking at me
I hear them whispering
I know who I am
I know where I stand
I don't need anyone to put me in my place
I'm perfectly content with life and my face
I'm the one who looks in the mirror everyday
I'm the one who wouldn't change anything anyway
The world can't handle what I have to say
None of that really matters to me anyway
I know exactly who I am, I know my place very well
So if you don't like me then just to go hell
I don't owe you anything at all
I won't mind if I have to crawl
I love it when I stand alone
At least I'm standing on my own
I like it when you hate me
That's how I know I'm being me
I won't let one inch of my soul go to waste
I love myself more whenever everyone else is consumed by their own hate
I'm not here to fake it
Make a rule and I'll break it
At least my heart is kept true
That's the most I can say about you
