I am living my life in yesterday.
My hopes and my dreams have gone astray.
Thoughts come flooding back to me.
Dreams of what used to be.
Visions in my mind I see.
I am living my life in yesterday.
My heart goes back to the Kentucky hills,
to a valley deep within.
To the old homeplace by the side of the road,
OH! I wanna go back again.
I have visions of the good old days,
hear echo's of Mother's call.
I see us sitting by the fireplace,
Watching flames as they flicker on the wall.
Somehow time seems to pass us by,
and regrets may creep in,
to fill our minds with yesterdays,
and dreams of what might have been.
