I'M Not One To Fall For Deceit Poem by Francis Duggan

I'M Not One To Fall For Deceit

The Government Ministers in some third World Countries from the people they govern they steal
They lead the high and the good life whilst millions hunger for a decent meal
On internet scams they cheat others to distribute their millions into a dubious foreign bank account
They sow for themselves the seeds of bad karma and their greed for them to nothing will amount.

I keep getting these emails from people offering me millions each with a sob story to tell
The wife or son or daughter of an assassinated leader who seemed to have done financially quite well
For my bank details they would richly reward me but their emails I quickly delete
I may not be the brightest of people but I'm not one to fall for deceit.

Even if I thought from their offer I would benefit of their scams I would not be part
These people are highly immoral they have no goodness in their heart
They steal billions of their people's money and because of them millions of hunger do die
These people are the worst of criminals they cheat and they steal and they lie.

They should feel ashamed of their actions but 'twould seem they are beyond all shame
Their fellow citizens dying of the hunger and for that they are partly to blame
To cheat and lie to them comes easy but the seeds of bad karma they sow
And what goes around always comes around a saying from ages ago.
