I'M Okay
'don't worry, i'm okay'
thats what i always say...
even if i'm not...
even when my emotions are boiling hot...
even when i'm sad...
even when things go bad...
funny how i could bluff my way around...
just a fake smile and a change of sound...
why am i doing this i don' t know...
emotions i don't really show...
it's eating me slow and surely...
but this is how i am truly...
freak? yes i think so...
pretender? i don; t really know...
all i know is that i'm okay
i'll always be just okay...
You are not alone, strange how most people say the same when asked, as if they thought the enquirer had no time or inclination to listen to otherwise, well put.

I could relate to this poem. I don't usually tell anyone either if I am 'not okay.' Well, I do have some close friends I will be 'real' with and let them know if I am not doing so hot. Good poem. Sincerely, Connie Webb
