I'M Sorry Poem by Brooke Ashlyn

I'M Sorry

You ask me why I feel they way I do
You tell me my memories simply aren't true
You tell me I am brainwashed
Just an immature child
You act like you know me
I watched as you smiled
You think you set me free
From all my misery
You just caused more
Showed me the things you thought I couldn't see
I forgave you somehow
Go ahead take a bow
You swore you would never replace me
I would always be your little girl
Your lies I just didn't see
Slowly your plan began to unfurl
Next thing I know you are back with her
I made you make a decision
It all passed in a blur
It wasn't the scene I envisioned
You didn't choose me
You left your own daughter
For a new one it seems
With her long blonde hair and big blue eyes
She's everything I can never be
I'm sorry I'm not the perfect child
I'm sorry I was so wild
I did a few things I probably shouldn't have done
I tried to end my life before it even begun
Do you not realize that you caused me to be the way I am
Your entire life was just one big sham
The memories you say are lies
All came back to me
I saw the truth in your eyes
I'm sorry I wasn't good enough for you
I'm sorry you hated me for the things I couldn't do
I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough for what you put me through
I'm sorry for being me
I'm sorry I couldn't be the daughter you wanted me to be
