I'M Still Here Poem by Wilma Barnard

I'M Still Here

It was that night a while back
When my eyes closed and my body fell from track
He came without warning out of the dark
The last sound I heard was a hounds bark

Now standing here where my body use to be
No more traces of blood, no pain, my soul free
I stood by your bed last night, But you didnt see
I touched your chin, Carresed your skin
Tried to whisper some words of faith
But you didnt hear, I have no more breath to waste
You turned in your sleep
I could see the traces of tears from earlier weap

If I could take your sorrow away today
My soul would be free to go to heaven, drifting away
But your dread and pain keeps me here
For you cant make peace'Why did you dissipear'
There so many answers your still looking for
Thow Im still here, it cuts to the core...
