when you feel you're alone
as if the world left you behind
when you feel you're far from home
but in reality you've never gone

when it's like this isn't the world you once knew
when your whole entourage makes you feel blue
when it seems as if the trees have turned from you
like the sun will never again shine for you

look around and then you'll see
a smiling face that will forever be
at your side no matter what
that of a friend who loves you so much

'cause then you'll never be alone
and forever in the know
that you are safe

even when we never talk
even when distance has brought us apart
