I Miss You Poem by ANDREW CULJAK

I Miss You

Rating: 3.0

I sit in silence, somber, breathing, waiting, because I miss you.
The rare moments I speak are merely the wasting of time
With friends I like - more when you're around,
But they serve their purpose: moving me forward to your return.
I loathe the new experience without you next to me, sharing,
And delight in the mundane, the routine,
For you are closer to me in the daily chore.

There are no romantic notions or flights of fancy.
My heart doesn't sear with the fires of hell.
I don't plumb the deep, dark recesses of my soul.
I don't cry out to the heavens or wallow in the mire.
I wait
For color to seep into what is bland,
For boredom to be usurped, emptiness to be refilled;
And knowing that it will,
I am patient.
