Emily Jenkins (07/24/90 / Cumberland Maryland)
I miss you Dad.
What do you do when all the pain won't go away?
Even though you're gone, I still have to stay.
As the days go by, I miss you more and more everyday.
I miss hearing all the funny things you used to say.
Time was well spent when you were here.
But I can't quit thinking of that smile from ear to ear.
I know if you were here right now things would be a lot better.
I wouldn't have to pretend like I was writing you a letter.
I know you are up in heaven having a blast.
So I should stop thinking about the past.
You know I won't see you at Graduation.
But I wish I could see your love and appreciation.
I know you will be watching down upon me.
Looking with that 'look' so happily.
I know I've had a couple of dreams.
But they were all so short it seemed.
I want to apologize for not being in your presence as much.
But trust me, I would take it all back just for your loving touch.
I just want you to know that you'll be in my heart forever.
So hopefully things will get better.
It's so hard to say Goodbye Dad, I wish this didn't have to be so sad.
I wish you could have had one more chance, so I could see that special glance.
I wasn't ready for you to go but God needed to use that special Halo.
I know this all happened in the past, but I have so many memories that will always Last!
I miss you so much! RIP Dad, I will be thinking of you ALWAYS!
