I Need Your Help Poem by Dave Alexander

I Need Your Help

Tell me what to do, tell me what to say,
I could almost dropp to my knees and pray.
I need advice from people out there,
My feelings exposed in the world’s bright glare.

I want to tell a story, about the girl that I love,
I could almost swear she was sent from above.
The thing is, and this will make you wince,
She left years ago, and I haven’t seen her since.

We were friends for years, we even shared a home,
But now that she’s gone, I just live alone.
My godson’s her child, with another man,
As a mum, I’m her number one fan.

We fell out over something stupid, I take all the blame,
I made the wrong choice and it fanned the flame.
She hated my girlfriend, she turned out to be right,
It went from an argument to a full blown fight.

She left soon after, moved far away,
And I still regret it, to this very day.
We speak now and then, over the phone,
When the chat is over, I feel empty and alone.

So what should I do? Move on with my life?
Accept that she will never love me the same, or be my wife.
Or should I fight for her? as I should have done then,
If need to make a choice, if not now, then when?

So I appeal to you all, asking for your wisdom,
Is there still hope, or is the relationship done.
Please comment below and say what you feel,
Either way, it’s the first step for me to heal.
