I Reach My Hand

I reach my hand
To touch your face
Right now I'm content
In my time and place

But soon you'll go
So far away
When you'll return
You cannot say

So that is why
I touch your skin
To later remember
Where I've been

I'll put my hand
To my face
The scent of you
Fills your empty space

As I touch
Your skin so brown
I realize now
Just what I've found

A woman I love
With all my heart
Nothing on earth
Can keep us apart

I reach my hand
To touch your face
I now know
No one can take your place

It made one Gasp and Stretch one's Eyes;
Her Aunt, who, from her Earliest Youth,
