I Sit Looking Out Poem by Michael Hopkins

Note: I started to write a poem yesterday in my usual style of writing and it just did not work. I though of how to simplify the message and what popped into my head was the word, Haiku.

I have used this form many years back and taught poetry lessons to my students using this form and have been able to effortlessly create examples for them just by staring at an object or out the window and playing around with the words that come to mind while after checking I am using the proper 5-7-5 form of the Japanese poetry.

I wrote this poem this morning,16 June 2017 and published it for the first time on my blog today.
