I Take The Scriptures Seriously Poem by Gary James Smith

I Take The Scriptures Seriously

Rating: 5.0

I Take The Scriptures Seriously

I take the scriptures seriously
They are my meat and drink
They help me live victoriously
They direct the way I think
My stability rests upon them
There is nothing more secure
Heaven and earth will pass away
The scriptures will forever endure

In the light of the Word
Our sin is recognized
We see Satan for who he is
Despite of his disguise
Trying to be an angel of light
He the father of darknesses domain
Praise God for the Lord Jesus Christ
Who death itself overcame

And now our Overcomer
Declares by the written Word
Whomsoever believes on Christ
Of Salvation he is assured
Yes praise God for the scriptures
The eyegate to faith revealed
Truth expressed by the Spirit of God
That each believer is sealed

Stamped with God's approval
We've repented of our sin
Now absolutely forgiven...Hallelujah!
With true joy found in Him
The scriptures yet are living
For the Author is our Lord
I trust you'll take them seriously
And come to know your God!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
