I Thought It Was True Poem by Kaytie Broadhurst

I Thought It Was True

I wonder where you are tonight
Are the stars shining bright
As you sit on a blanket with her
Is she anything like we were

I make excuses for you
I tell my self I see your point of view
Truth is I just can't understand
How all this pain could be over one man

I wish I could be mad and ignore you forever
But with you around life is better
Are songs float around my head
I won't allow your memory to be dead

Through all this hurt the future is a mystery
We will always have something she doesn't history
I won't forget you and you can't forget me
It's that simple you see

Life will take us down different paths
Maybe at the end you'll be what's last
