I tried to tell you right from the start
He was always going to break your heart
But you didn’t hear a word I'd say
You went on loving him anyway

I Tried to tell you but you didn’t hear
Your guardian angel I was standing near

You never heard me shed a quite tear
while you where crying on my shoulder

Now he's gone and you've lost it all
You sit alone while lonely tear drops fall
Amid the tears and pain you don’t recall
that angel crying on your shoulder.

I tried to tell but you didn’t see
All love you could have had from me

A love so lost it could never be
not while your crying on my shoulder
