I Turn To Nature Poem by Francis Duggan

I Turn To Nature

I turn to Nature when I'm feeling down
I go to the park at the top of the town
And sit on the timber bench in the shade of the trees
In a cool spot that's out of the sun and the breeze
Most birds I've come to know by their chirps or their song
Their voices distinctive you can't get them wrong
They are part of Nature's wild-born family
In that respect they are no different to me
Since to Nature I too feel that I do belong
Though many may say that I have it all wrong
But if they have their own Gods that does suit me fine
And their religious beliefs is no business of mine
I pay a visit to Nature when I'm feeling down
She lives in the park at the top of the town.
