I've Had Enough Poem by Ray Hansell

I've Had Enough

Here I am back again
To write another rant
I wish that I could stop
But I know I just can't

Some of the rules for covid-19
Border line on the absurd
In fact some of them
Are dumbest things I ever heard

Can someone please tell me
While some stores are forced to close
Yet liquor stores remain open
That's a question who's answer no one knows

They sell liquor, cigarettes and lottery tickets
Along with the best of junk food
So you see in my opinion
All these rules are so skewed

While Costco, Target and WalMart
All rake in the sales
There will be a whole lot more
Who are eventually going to fail

It's the inconsistency
That's witnessed everywhere
Of course I understand it
Why would those in charge ever care?

Cities, counties and states
Are losing millions in revenue
But they'll make it up in taxes
By screwing guess who?

So when this crisis is all over
And things return to calm
Just remember it was the politicians
Who have caused all the harm

So I'll close for today
But I'll be back again
Probably back to rant some more
But I can't say just when
