I've Prayed All Along. Poem by Tenesha NicolSey

I've Prayed All Along.

Rating: 5.0

Lying still, holding my breath
Feeling followed by the stench of death

Legs still unable to move
Longing to get up
Having something to prove

New day, new dawn
No feelings right or wrong

Wake up legs
I've prayed all along.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is something I'd scribbled down in my notepad on 23rd may this year after feeling utterly hopeless.

I'd been flat on my back for months after damaging my spinal cord and being left with paraplegia.

After my accident I'd I found out I was expecting a baby.

On the 25th may my son was born sleeping and today I lay him to rest.

Id forgotten id even wrote these words,
That day when I felt so bleak.

If only I knew.

PUSH - Pray Until Something Happens. An insightful piece of poetry, well articulated and nicely penned from the heart. Having faith in The Lord is not cruising on a boat without storms, but being in a boat that no storm could capsize. Thanks for sharing Tenesha.
