I Voted My Conscience Tonight Poem by Hebert Logerie

I Voted My Conscience Tonight

Yes, tonight I voted for the right candidate
I voted for someone who truly can debate
Fight for us; yes, he can solve our problems
I voted for Bernie Sanders, the Underdog
Bernie came from nowhere, out of the fog
To become a serious contender with hot flames
Enthusiasm and fire. Even though, based on the numbers
Bernie will not win the nomination, as promised
I still voted for the conscientious fighter, Mr. Sanders
Who is not for the status quo. He can clean the mess
Which exists long ago. He can change the system.
He surely can improve our lives from top to bottom.
I am protesting. I am uncomfortable with the Clinton
Foundation, in regards to Haiti. I want to see action
Not empty promises, not decorated lies, and no rhetoric
I want to see true remedies, real solutions to specific
Problems. Yes, I voted for the right candidate
In the general election, I will vote for Hillary
I like her, because she is less crooked than Mr. Chump
She is not divisive; she stands for fairness and unity
However, the red elephant only knows how to pump
Up: bigotry, divisiveness, greed, and bombastic arrogance
Yes, I admire pride, hard work, progress, and common sense.
