I Want To Be... Poem by Nebiyu Wossene

I Want To Be...

Poor, with plenty to give,
Worthless, who sits amongst the 'Weli', (Godly man)
Content, with no protest,
Just a glowing smile on my face,
Soft heart, with tearful eyes,
Mad, for only compassions,
Drunk, on 'Wine of Love',
Like a worthy slave.
But I am weak to improve less,
Weak, to control my 'Nefs'. (Self)
That's why I am looking for my heart, my conscience,
To in-sing as one, like nature does,
Heart to heart, Breath to breath,
To gain more virtues of this existence,
Before I lose myself,
Oh God,
Before, I wrong my own Self.

But I am weak to improve less, Weak, to control my 'Nefs'. (Self) such lines give the impression that you really know Sufis.
