I Want To Live Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Want To Live

Rating: 5.0

I do not want to die
I want to live
I do not want to feel all the time
How old I am
And how everything is being lost
And how soon I will be gone
I want to live
And enjoy life
It's true I cannot be as I was
The adventure of romance is forever gone
I cannot run as I once did
People seem to at times not want to see me or sit next to me
But I am still strong in so many ways
I can walk and breathe and feel the morning light
I can still think and write
I know how to talk and laugh
I can be alright still in so many ways
Let me now O God then not die too soon in my mind
And let me I pray go on with strength as long as I can
Loving life as best I can
For whatever it is
As long as I can.
