I Will Stay Poem by Jasmine Williams

I Will Stay

My mind is so full of wonder,
I fear I'll blunder through the fray.
My hands refuse to colour
the world in black and grey.
Power is in words,
though no one cares what I say.
I'll walk my path alone,
and talk to God when I stray.
My soul is full of purpose.
To find a purpose, I had to pay.
My heart is full of darkness,
A Darkness I'm prepared to slay.
My heart is bemused to wanting,
a egregious type of greed.
My mind is affixed to wonder,
when I will be freed.
I worry I'll fall asunder
I worry I'll flip and flounder
At times, I want to run away.
But with the spirit of a hunter
And the precision of a drummer
To face myself, I will stay.
