I Wish



I wish I could
Cut away this fear
With a surgeon’s confidence,
My head steady
With focused determination.
But the lines blur
Between
Heart and head
When it’s you
Going under the knife;
Knowing pieces
Will be removed
And I love
All the pieces
That you are.
