I Wish Life Was A Musical Poem by Mary Nagy

I Wish Life Was A Musical

Life seems so much easier
in the musicals.
Pain just seems so much more
pleasant
and bearable.

I'm not saying Dorothy
didn't feel loneliness and pain
while she sang
'Over the rainbow........'
but, she did it beautifully.
She did it with a romance
and beauty
that you don't see
in real life.

I'd like to sing through my pain.
I'd like to look to the skies
and belt out a song
with the beauty and grace
of healing...
and have it heal.

Grease is my favorite all-time movie. I can't help but feel good after watching it! I wish they made more musicals. Brian

I have a feeling, Mary, that is exactly what you do every day, I'm glad to hear the voice of your songs.

I have that same feeling. But isn't joy, in fact all other emotions, expressed so well in soing? This, itself, should have a Gershwin or Berstien tune behind it. 'Who could ask for anything more? '
