I Wish Not Poem by Danny Pham

I Wish Not

Rating: 4.0

When the sun goes down, and the howls die down
I run towards the city, lights oh so pretty
I see a man, rounder than round
Eating a burger he's found
Paid for with green
Oh I wish I could be seen

When the sun rises, and I no longer have to disguise
Who I really am. Bark
I touch the tree, clawed, in the park
I hear a sound, I run towards the pound
I hear my brothers whimpering and barking
Slowly dieing, their sad songs they sing

Oh I wish I could change, oh I wish I could be them
Like a man, he is a gem
He can fly, can swim, can do everything
I can only run, track, and sing
Bark
Again, its dark
But I see perfectly fine
While the humans dine

I want to be as powerful as they are
But sometimes I wish I were I
They travel far
I complain and sigh
But a wolf I am
Not a human Sam
