I Wish To Prove Them Wrong Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

I Wish To Prove Them Wrong

“I wish to prove them wrong” you know,
Who is that? ~ I hear you say.
The Medics and Consultants who said
That I should be Wheelchair-bound all day.

For ten days I have been in Rehab,
After an Amputation across my right knee,
But my Faith has seen me through,
With good humour and with glee.

I have not been despondent,
Nor had moments of despair,
My Faith in YOU has taken me far,
To help my Body to repair.

I need to keep a positive view,
As my Future Life I plan,
But YOU will also be near me,
As I am just a Man.

To go back to ‘Independent Living’,
To live my Life in praise of YOU,
For YOU are always with me,
And that I know is true.

1 March 2014.
