I would paint you a picture
If I had the talent
I would read you some scripture
If I had been gallant
I'd shower you with presents
If I had the money or gold
I'd revive the old legends
If I had been knightly or bold
I would sing you a lover's song
If I had an artist's voice
I would right every single wrong
If I could do so by choice
I would promise you heaven
If I believed in romance and dreams
I'd be your stronghold and haven
If you'd trust me to hear your screams
But all those things I never was
so I can not promise paradise
Nor will I tell you pretty lies
For this, I hope you are not cross
But for every promise spoken
There's some oath to be broken
So there's just one vow that I can give
Which is just as true as I do live
At your side I'll go through hell
And give the devil some tale to tell
