I, Your Daphne Poem by Kat Hanlon

I, Your Daphne

Rating: 5.0

If I were your Daphne
You would come to me in daylight
And leave me at nights moonlight
I, your sweet Daphne

If I were your Daphne
I would run far and far away
And you would chase me till
You were not young but tired grey
I, your sweet Daphne

If I were your Daphne
You would come to me in daylight
And leave me at nights moonlight
I, your sweet Daphne

If I were your Daphne
You would cry in want of me
You would caress the hair
That I never seem to care
I, your sweet Daphne

If I were your Daphne
You would come to me in daylight
And leave me at nights moonlight
I, your sweet Daphne

If I were your Daphne
You would kiss me in cleansing me
In hope that I would see how much you love me
I, your sweet Daphne

If I were your Daphne
You would come to me in daylight
And leave me at nights moonlight
I, your sweet Daphne
Your Daphne
Your Daphne

Alas you leave behind
On my cold little stone
What I thought to be pretty
The flowers of the laurel tree
