Ice Paradise Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Ice Paradise

Eugene O'Neill by the cape
Waves glow like rage of soul
Night is in the culture
Nietzsche and the coming men
The great ones like the Nephilim
Peer into a world of no resurrection
This is it
No justice
No good and evil
Definitions subjective
Into the night we walk
Revelation rejected
Darling our values are pillars
Follow Milton and Dante

Virgil, Cicero, Chaucer
Supple wine of ancient writ
Plato's Republic and St Augustine
We are the flowers of Hellene
Winds of the coming fire
What is our love amidst the idols
We can only be rebels
We can only deconstruct
Empires with dark wings
Desire amidst the apothecary
Science fiction romance
Torn amidst Eden's cast aways
Cupid in the prison of humanity
Our love must be a sojourn

There is a frost on Charles town
Summer was a child's vision
Now we see what belief in machines do
Let the sax blow like blues from Harlem
Ballons over Harvard Square
My princes your dreams are my light
Stars in the city that resigns to fables
Democracy turns into the hearts of lust
No escape by technology
No perfect union
No Greek ideal
Survival becomes a vicious ice storm
We are the old days crumbling
We were born into the city of man

Warriors outside the ice paradise
