Identity Poem by Luann Soares Aranha

Identity

Rating: 3.5

I slap the fake
All over my face
You think i put it on to
Make myself attractive to the eye
But
It's a disguise
That i have to use
To hide
The purple and black marks he leaves
Stamped around my eyes...
... I'm scared
I need help
But i can't confess
The fear within my soul
Is prohibiting me
It's making me just swallow the pain and keep it inside!

I've been locked down
I've been made a prisoner by my own conscience
Please
HELP!

Ohh Mother Mary
Bring Grace
And the lord to me
Bless all women
And bless the fruit in my womb,
Peter
Ohh Mother Mary of God
Pray for me now
Or soon will be the hour of my death
Amen.
