If Poem by AnnaLeigh Jones

If

If my heart had wings
and could fly away,
it would fly to you
and with you it would stay.

If my thoughts could sing
songs in your ear,
they would sing of my love
loud enough for you to hear.

If my soul had the freedom
to run into your arms,
It would stay there, near your heart,
and I'd be safe from harm.

If my body weren't weak
and I had the strength to stand,
I would walk a thousand miles
for one last chance to hold your hand.
