If Poem by Tamra PoulinStolz

If

If I opened up to you,
Opened up all the way,
I know that you would come right in
But how long would you stay?
I know from where you’re standing
It looks like Heaven waits.
But the scenery changes and it feels like Hell
From this side of the gate.
If I told you the whole story,
Revealing everything,
Could you accept the changes?
That you would see in me?
I know you see right through me
When you look into my eyes.
Laying bare my soul and
Exposing all the lies.
I have never been so afraid of losing
But this is not a game to me.
Like all good things it will end…
Who will the winner be?
