If Everyone Cared

If everyone cared they would listen
They would listen to what I have to say
And they would take what I said and analyze it
See where I am coming from in my point of view

If everyone cared they would let me be
They wouldn't make me talk to someone who I don't hardly know
And they would just leave it all alone
Leave me here all alone where I know I'm okay

If everyone cared they would take it to heart
Take what I say and at least sit on it for a while
And maybe then they would understand
Maybe then they would finally get the big picture

If everyone cared they would do what I want
They would leave me out of they're minds
And they would think before they spoke those words
But the thoughts of that ever happening are one in a million
If only everyone cared then maybe they would see what I see
