I would dry every tear off your face.
I would touch your lips and make them smile.
I would warm your heart with the softest lace.

If I only knew how,
I would keep sorrow from your path.
I would assure you, that you would never meet the misery, you fear,
I would make your troubles disappear in a life long bath.

If I only knew how,
I would ensure you eternal happiness.
I would hold your hand in a smiling dance,
I would give you perpetual youth - no less.

If I only knew how.
I would obliterate words like hatred and enmity.
I would give you a language with words like love and friendship,
I would fill your life with a new sense of dignity.
