If It Wasn'T For You Poem by Corey Campbell (BlackChild)

If It Wasn'T For You

I couldn't understand why a guy
would kill himself over a girl.
My lack of understanding,
thru living life my mind has unfurled.

I've experienced many things,
some I couldn't even understand.
I've even experienced depression,
and what it can do to a man.

Ya see, every word U say it holds so true.
Cause I wonder, what would've happen to me?
If it wasn't for you!

Many nights go by
and I'm still here all alone.
People wander in and out my life,
many judge to say that I'm wrong.

Loneliness sets in,
My heart has gotten weak.
Don't want to see another day,
nevertheless, another week.

Your every word to me, it holds so true.
I don't want to think what would've happened.
If it wasn't for you!

Young and naive enjoying life was grand!
Until someone fired with a gun in his hand.
'No weapon against me shall prosper' was absolutely
true.
Can't seem to wonder, if it wasn't for you.

Bills stack up
But there was always a way.
To resolve this debt
That I could not pay.

The responsibility of my child,
and to provide all she needs.
Sometimes its that load
that wears and exceeds.

But your word it still holds so true.
Lord, what would happen to me?
If it wasn't for you?
