If only you had given yourself time
to know me and understand me
all i wanted was your love
was that too much to ask?

If only you had taken a second look
and told me that you loved me
instead you told me how much you hated me
all you did was to abandon me
was that the only option you had?

Today as i am standing in this field
crying before the faded roses
i am not crying over you
i am in pain because you never
looked me twice in my face
and told me that you loved me
all i wanted to hear
was that you loved me!

I have lived in sorrow
tears have been my shower
as misery was my bath tub
i was fed on scraps refused by dogs
clothed in poverty and slept under bridges
all i wanted was you by my side but
was that hard for you?

Because of you i have learned to be patient
you have made me to keep on keeping on
i may not be able to thank you now
but one day when we meet again
all i would love to say
will be thank you!
