If Only Poem by Austin Ayers

If Only

If only people knew my true side
If only they knew the same thing you do
All they see is the way I hide
But they don't even have a clue
Very few know who I truly am
'Cause no one else really cares
About all my feelings, crowded like a dam
Though my love stands out, just like a flare
Will you stop by the flare to embrace it
Or will you douse it, will you even notice
I just want the love to fit
So it can go into your focus
If only people knew my true side
But all they see, is the way I hide

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I am usually pretty crazy and freaky, but the only reason I do it, is to get attention. If everyone knew who I truly am... I'm afraid they'd make fun of me for the rest of my life...
