If Only Poem by Cs. Smith

If Only

I long to lose some precedent
To a new shameful tendency
Because I am so confident
It'll make me fine company
There's a laundry list of why's
I lack good grace and kind charm
But now with a few bold lies
My status would know no harm
All love daring extravagance
And it's sport I've never known
But with a dash of confidence
I can truly make it my own
