IF THERE IS NO POEM/ WHY TRY TO WRITE ONE?

If there is no poem,
Why try to write one?
Why try to force Meaning
Out of nothing?
Why try to pretend to be doing
When one cannot?
Why try to write
When one is not writing?
Why try to be
What one is not?

If there is no poem
Learn to wait
Perhaps it will come-

And if it does not
Live in a universe
Of your own poemlessness
Most people do after all -

Just live
Poemless
In your own inner Silence, Loss, and Longing.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Loved the word, Poemless its painful orphan connotation like motherless or penniless. why try to force or change what you cannot? Acceptance of life, . of pain of emptiness, ? So simply and so well expressed. But for the Poet, to be Poemless is very hard to face. Does it mean death? In any case, it's a wonderful poem, I am glad you were not Poemless when you wrote it. So simple and yet so rich and so profound, Loved it, thank you
