If Tomorrow Should Start Without Me Poem by Jean Alfonso

If Tomorrow Should Start Without Me

When the sun has set for me:
Why cry for a soul set free?
For this is the path that I should take,
It’s not my decision I had to make.

I wish you didn’t cry like you did today,
I am always in your heart even though I’m far away.
For this is my road that had to end,
for it is today that the Lord, His angel did send.

Wherever our ocean meets our sky,
remember the memories of you and I.
Today, without me is a new start,
but I forever leave my footprints in your heart.
